VectorD ("we", "us", "our") operates the website vectord.in and related services including the Client Portal and Report Maker. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your full name
• Your email address
• A password (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot read your password)

Usage Data

When you use our services (Client Portal, Report Maker), we store records of activity directly associated with your account — for example, reports you have generated or invoices associated with your profile. We do not collect or store browsing data, device fingerprints, or analytics.

Contact Form

If you send us a message via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry.

2. Cookies & Local Storage

Session Cookie

We use exactly one cookie: vd_session. This is a secure, HttpOnly session cookie placed when you log in. It keeps you signed in for up to 7 days and is removed when you log out. It contains no personal data — only a random token.

No Tracking Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar services.

Local Storage

Your cookie consent choice is saved in your browser's local storage so we don't show the banner repeatedly. No personal data is stored there.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To send you account-related emails (email verification, password reset)
• To provide access to services you have subscribed to (Client Portal, Report Maker)
• To respond to your contact form messages
• To process and track payments associated with your account

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored on servers located in India. Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing. Session tokens are stored as SHA-256 hashes — the raw token is only ever in your browser cookie. All connections to vectord.in are encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Resend — to deliver transactional emails (verification codes, password resets). Resend receives your email address for delivery purposes only.
• DeepSeek API — to power AI features (Report Maker, Victor AI chat). Inputs you send to AI features are processed by DeepSeek. We recommend not including personal or sensitive data in AI prompts.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so, contact us here. We will respond within 7 business days.

7. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
